SHE'S HERE!!

My beautiful baby girl, Kilee Grace, was born on 10/22/07 at 9:11pm. She weighed 6lbs 2.9oz and was 19" long. She is a beautiful baby. We were in the hospital from 10/22 - 10/26. It was a long, exhausting stay.
So, here's how it went... we got to the hospital at 11:30pm on 10/21 and got checked into the labor and delivery room. The nurses were all nice. I was a nervous wreck. We didn't get any sleep before going to the hospital. We were both exhausted so after changing into the ugly gown and getting my IV of pictocin and the belly straps we tried to get some sleep. Yeah right!! Mike dosed some, but I couldn't. It didn't take long before the contractions started. I kept telling the nurses they hurt. They gave me stadol for the pain which made me loopy!! Finally after complaining over and over again a really sweet nurse stayed with me for over an hour adjusting my belts until she got them right. Well now, they figured out that my contractions were really intense. I asked for the epidural at 5:30 and they did it and the catheter. The epidural was horrible. Nobody told me I wouldn't be able to feel my legs. I swear I just assumed I would be numb in "that" area. Guess I'm nieve. The epidural was very painful/uncomfortable and I cried like a baby. They wouldn't let Mike stay in the room while they did it and that sucked!
The doctor, Dr. Mary Robbins, checked me around 7am and I was dialated to 5cm and 100% effaced. When I was checked at around 8:00pm I was still the same. NO CHANGE! Dr. Robbins said I was going to have to have a c-section. They told me and Mike the news and said they'd come right back to prep me. Mike went outside the door to tell everyone and when he came back into the room I was being whisked away. My family didn't get to say anything to me before the surgery. My mom was very angry.
All turned out fine though. I'm still not able to get up and down by myself much. It's hard. It hurts really bad.

We Have a Due Date

The doctor decided to go ahead and induce my labor on the 22nd. I go into the hospital at midnight Sunday night/Monday morning. I'm so excited. Mom and Mike are, too.
Gary is coming in to town Sunday morning with Gemma. They want to be here for the birth. Also, Tiff and Emo are coming Sunday morning.
I can't believe I get to have my baby finally, plus get to see my family & best friend. I wish Cheryl was able to come, but she can't take Monday off of work because of payroll. She's pregnant and can't take much time off since she will be taking off so much soon. :(

Doctor's Appointment

The doctor says I'm dialated to 1cm and about 70-80% effaced. She asked me to come back on the 19th, Friday, and if I'm not dialated any farther she'll give me something to help ripen the cervix. WOOHOO! Any day now!

25 Weeks

Well, we're now 25 weeks along and it's moving so quickly. Seems like just yesterday we were 6 weeks along. We found out we're having a little girl. We've decided to name her Kilee Grace Melton. She's moving so much inside there now. She's been moving since about 18 or 19 weeks. It's hard to remember a time when she didn't wiggle around like crazy.
We've got the nursery done. The furniture's all setup, room's painted, etc. We're just sitting back waiting on the little girl to come to us.

My dearest Baby on the way

You will one day see this and hopefully it will help you thru one the day. Your mom and I love each other very much and where very happy to hear about your come into our life. You mom was very sick thru the first part of making you. I still remember me and your mom reading about what week you were getting put together. I will never forget us reading on the 5-6 week your chin and face and bones were begining to form. Your were getting your identity what you would look like. And I think that same week you started curculating blood and you doubled in size. About a pea size maybe.

We are very excited to be having a baby. We still doing know what you are yet. Boy or girl. Doesn't matter to me. I got hired on the job I hope to still have when you can read this. You have a big family and I do hope you get to meet my grandparents. It seems like yesterday I was staying with them in Knoxville. Well I have another big day before you get here. So We'll see you soon my love.
